So glad to “meet” you! My name is Enjonae Anderson, I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS), Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), Certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor(PMH-C) and the founder of Mended Hearts Counseling. More information about these credentials can be found on the resources page.

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have been in the human services field since 2006 when I began working at the department of social services. Because I wanted to help people on a more personal level, I earned my Master’s of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.

I have been a counselor since 2012 and it is my heart and passion to advocate for and support women during their reproductive and mothering years. I provide both individual counseling, as well supervision, consultation and training for community members and those in the healthcare field. My areas of focus is Women’s Mental Health and I specialize in perinatal mood disorders, including prenatal and postpartum depression, anxiety, panic disorder and OCD. I also have professional training and experience in facilitating group therapy which is beneficial to those coping with issues related to postpartum mood disorders, infertility, as well as child loss. I  completed the Postpartum Support International Certificate Training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.

I believe in the uniqueness of each individual, and that counseling should be tailored for each person’s specific needs/goals. My theoretical approach to counseling is eclectic, incorporating cognitive-behavioral, narrative, and family systems. These therapies are well established, researched, and respected within the profession. I am committed to providing support and empathy as individuals work to release hurt and revive hope.

gardenI am a member of the American Counseling Association, American Association of Christian Counselors and the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina. I am also a member of and volunteer for Postpartum Support International. I believe in playing an active role in my community.

In my spare time I enjoy gardening, yoga, cooking, the outdoors and spending time with my family and our “furry friends”.

Denotra J. Winston, MA, LCMHC, LCASA

Hello! I am a passionate and well qualified Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I earned a Master of Art in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2012. I have over 15 years of experience working with adults and children who have been abused or neglected and that have various substance abuse and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief and ADHD.

I like to adapt sessions to assist clients in identifying stressors, identify motivations, build support systems, and increase functioning. I am an excellent communicator and client advocate, experienced at working with diverse age groups and socio-economic populations.

The counseling experience is one that will require trust commitment and requires participation from all parties involved. My goal is to establish a therapeutic relationship with each client while striving to be honest and maintain professionalism at all times. I will be utilizing techniques from an eclectic approach to counseling, primarily focusing on Family Systems, Person Centeredness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Techniques will include journaling, and active listening. Homework assignments will be given as appropriate and relaxation exercises may be presented to encourage problem solving and coping skills. I believe in empowering individuals to overcome personal obstacles that may be keeping them from reaching their goals in life.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Allison Pursley, MA, LCMHCA

Hello! Thank you for stopping by – and taking the first step on this journey. My name is Allison Pursley, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor – Associate, and National Board-Certified Counselor. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from UNC-Greensboro in Human Development and Family Studies. I have dual Master of Arts degrees from Liberty University, focused on Clinical Mental Health Counseling as well as Human Services with a concentration in Marriage and Families.

When I entered the field, I quickly found enjoyment in helping others meet their goals. I have a substantial background working with children, teenagers, adults, and family systems in both private practice and community settings. Since transitioning into private practice, I have found my passion in working with young adults, women, and individuals experiencing grief and loss.

I work from an eclectic approach, incorporating modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy, and Brief Solution Focused Therapies to assist clients with meeting their goals. I believe in client collaboration to create very personalized treatment plans, and fully believe we are a team throughout the therapeutic journey.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, fur babies, and traveling as much as possible!

I know pursuing therapy can be a very daunting process, but I feel that holding space and meeting clients’ where they are is a privilege. I’d love to have a warm conversation and meet you!

Hannah Dillon, MSW, LCSWA

Hey there!

I’m Hannah Dillon, a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate, and a graduate of the Joint MSW program at UNC-Greensboro and North Carolina A&T State University. I appreciate the field of social work because it considers how our unique identities impact the way we interact with and experience the world around us.

My mission is to assist individuals in navigating relational dynamics, fostering growth in communication, boundary setting, and self-awareness across various spheres of life – whether it’s with romantic partners, family members, friends, or coworkers. I also enjoy helping clients grow in self-compassion and validation so that they can access kindness and patience toward themselves on the healing journey.

During sessions, I integrate narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy, blending the two to explore your unique narrative, the events that have shaped you, and how these experiences influence your current reality. I facilitate helping individuals process difficult emotions and examine long-held beliefs, particularly within family cultures and in faith-based spaces where it can feel very threatening to question widely held, entrenched beliefs.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new cities, crocheting, and envisioning elaborate home decor projects.

If any of this resonates with you, I would be honored to accompany you on your path to healing and growth!
